About
My name is Pantea Bassiri, and I have been painting since 2006. Art has always been a natural extension of who I am—an inheritance carried through the DNA of my father, the acclaimed artist and sculptor Reza Bassiri, who instilled in me a deep sense of creativity, curiosity, and passion.
I am a contemporary artist whose work centers on emotion, movement, and sensory experience. My paintings are intentionally vibrant and richly textured; I am drawn to bold color, depth, and layered materials that prevent the work from feeling flat or one-dimensional.
Texture is essential to my practice. I build each piece with a strong physical presence, encouraging the viewer to move closer, engage with detail, and experience the work beyond a first glance. I want the audience to feel something—whether that’s energy, calm, curiosity, or connection—rather than simply observe.
My process is intuitive and expressive, allowing each painting to evolve organically rather than conform to a fixed outcome. This approach creates work that feels alive and dynamic, inviting personal interpretation and emotional resonance.
In June of last year, I lost my father, and with that loss came a profound shift in my relationship with my work. I now carry his legacy forward—often using his very paintbrushes—creating each piece with intention, vibrancy, and emotional presence. Every canvas is both a reflection of my own journey and a continuation of his spirit, honoring where I come from while offering energy, beauty, and light to those who encounter the work.
